Tribute Session

Chair Biography

Dr. Gritti obtained his Ph.D at the University of Bordeaux in France in 2001. His doctoral research was titled “Study of Stationary Phases Based upon Liquid Crystal Polymers”. At Bordeaux he investigated immobilising liquid crystal polymers on silica surfaces as new stationary phases in liquid chromatography and studied the physics of these polymers coated onto planar surfaces. Upon completion of his doctorate, Dr Gritti moved to the University of Tennessee at Knoxville working as Postdoctoral Fellow with Prof. George Guiochon (a winner of the Martin medal in 1980). This was followed by positions at the University as a Research Associate and more recently as a Research Scientist there. To date, Dr Gritti has published over 170 peer-reviewed papers in his short research career. Dr Gritti was presented with the Jubilee medal at HPLC 2013 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
